Richborough Energy Park

Richborough Energy Park

Keltbray

The Site

Located between the River Stour and Hacklinge Marshes to Sandwich Bay SSSI, Richborough Energy Park comprises of a battery storage facility and switching station.

Constructed using shipping containers, each housing the batteries and associated equipment, and with an operational lifetime of the 30 years, this development will provide the county of Kent with a sustainable power supply for decades to come.

The Brief

Practicality Brown were commissioned by Keltbray to provide the site’s final implementation plan. By taking the previously produced Ecological Mitigation and Habitat Creation Plan, we provided updated drawings as well as further specification as to any future works that are to be undertaken onsite. The updated drawing and specification now provides Keltbray with an exact plan of action as well as final plant and grassland figures to fulfil the site’s Biodiversity Net Gain requirements.

  • Utilisation of Highways England’s Series 3000 landscape specification with updates made to provide better creation and maintenance of the site.

Outcome

Undertaken and delivered 4 weeks ahead of schedule, the final version of the implementation plan will be utilised by Keltbray and their client for discussions with Natural England and other local stakeholder groups before the habitat enhancement works take place.
