Biomass production

Practicality Brown are committed to sustainable operating practices, offering the very best Biomass production services. We reduce, reuse and recycle and reclaim, making sure any wood/vegetation products removed from any site do not go to waste.

Any whole tree woodchip or logs removed from our sites are taken to our Biomass production Fuel Hub, where they are processed and used as biofuel, providing energy to schools, collages, leisure centres, food producers and commercial buildings across the country.

At our Biomass Fuel Hub we chip logs as required, dry with woodchip fuelled boilers, and screen the wood chip, to produce a high quality uniform product to meet British & European Standard Specifications (BS EN).

No material is wasted, oversize chip is re-chipped and screened and material too small to chip are used as an additive for plant growing medium.

Our woodchip fuel is an assured quality woodfuel, as certified by Woodsure. We are a registered supplier on Biomass Supplier List (BSL) with our biomass fuel eligible for the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.
